Molly, Amy, Baby Lane, and Dave (first three pictured above) hosted a party at their place to watch the first debate. There was quite the turn out. I know it is hard to believe for those bombarded by the election every minute of the day, but when you have limited access you actually begin to crave it.

were you able to see the VP debate and the 2nd debate? We're becoming debate junkies as well. Did you see the Saturday night live parodies of Palin on the web? They also did one of McCain and Obama after the second debate. Very funny.

No, i have heard about tina fey's palin. Unfortunately it would take us forever to download. Maybe once we have internet at home, which will hopefully be this week. It will make it much easier to chat, too, once that happens.
Yesterday, we went to lecture by Robyn Rowland on the rhetoric of the campaign. Obama message was on of hope and the American Dream. McCain's has been one of being a hero. The maverick theme was not working because he was a maverick on issues that do not mean anything to the American people. Robyn related Obama's message the American Dream to that of Reagan's. Although, Reagan was more focused on the individual. Obama is focused on the community. It takes the "whole village" to raise a child. He also beleives that we as individual parents have a responsibilty. Robyn was not sure how the Bradley affect would play out and are we ready to vote for a black as president. Josh thinks the "cell phone" affect will cancel out the Bradley affect. It was very interesting. Dad
